Summary The packaging operator is responsible for running packaging equipment safely and efficiently, loading and unloading cans or kegs from the line and cleaning the general brewing area. The Packaging Operator is responsible for ensuring quality control specifications are met, controlled, and documented throughout a packaging run. Must be detail orientated and hardworking. Must be able to lift up to 55lbs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

· Ability to master all equipment including changeovers on the Canning line and the Kegger.

· Work closely with and gain a clear functional understanding of packaging machinery.

· Work closely with team and supervisor to assist in diagnosis of equipment issues.

· Knowledge of production reporting and batch records.

· Perform quality control checks on fermentation tanks

· Ability to learn quality control checks and perform the checks throughout the run.

· Ability to follow standard operating procedures.

· Perform Variety pack mixing operations as needed.

· Keep accurate daily production records per brewery requirements

· Take part in month end inventory.

· Comply with all company policies.

· Aid in training as necessary.

· Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other departments.

· Work towards meeting the department goals around efficiencies, yields, and cost.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Experience following standard operating procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment. Must have high attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
